![]() I noticed that I can save an OC profile to USB, so is it a good idea to 'import' such a profile when a different BIOS is flashed? ![]() It took quite a lot of trial and error and I'd like to keep these settings in an OC profile even when upgrading BIOS. It takes at least 1.35v for 4.4 ghz, while 4.3 ghz works at 1.28v. I got a fairly average OC on my I7 4770k. One boot attempt takes 10 secs to start loading the OS, the other attempt with the same settings can take minutes.Īnd while this is happening the onboard LED stays at 'A2' and the front led on my case indicates disk activity (IIRC)Īlso, I had to disable SMART checking at boot time or my 2nd internal hard disk would violate it (which it has never done before). Removing any USB devices before POST doesn't really do much, it all seems quite random to me. The more I play with voltages, the worse this problem becomes. Sometimes, it takes minutes to go from POST to the system setting summary (where you press del to enter the BIOS). ![]() Changing the drive from one USB input port to another does not help. Now when I plug it in or boot into my OS I get a notification telling me that 'the device could run faster if I connect it to a USB 3 port'. Last week I updated my BIOS to the latest version and noticed a few things that seem a bit 'off' to me.īefore updating the BIOS I could use my USB Hard disk drive using USB 3.
